Things to do in The Windy City during PR eLevated weekend
Are you ready for a fun-filled weekend in one of the greatest cities in the world? Look no further than Chicago! Not only is it a hub for hard-working professionals in the PR and communications industry, but it’s also a great place to let loose and enjoy all the city has to offer.
PR eLevated is just around the corner, and with the city being a hub for PR agencies, you can bet that the event is going to be packed with passionate professionals. But when you’re not networking and attending informative sessions, make sure to check out the many food options, attractions and events that our lovely Windy City has to offer.
Foodie Heaven
Chicago is home to some of the best food in the country, and if you’re a fan of pizza, you’re in for a treat… Be sure to check out Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria and Giordano’s for some mouth-watering deep-dish pizza. Do let us know which you prefer – there are wrong answers (according to most Chicagoans)!
HERO Coffee Bar and Starbucks Reserve are perfect spots for a caffeine fix, and Portillo’s and Nutella Cafe are great options for a quick bite, too. If you’re looking for something more upscale, head to London House or Magnolia Bakery for a more refined dining experience.
Bottom line: Chicago is a foodie heaven. Your restaurant journey is what you make it in The Windy City.
Attractions Galore
If you’re visiting Chicago for the first time, make sure to check out some of the city’s most famous attractions. The Art Institute of Chicago is a must-see for art lovers, while Navy Pier is a great place to go for a walk or catch a ride on the Centennial Wheel. The Willis Tower’s Sky Deck (or is it Sears Tower?) offers a breathtaking view of the city, and the Magnificent Mile on North Michigan Avenue is perfect for shopping and strolling on the ground.
If you’re in the mood for a more laid-back experience, head to Millennium Park for a picnic near “The Bean” or check out the vibrant Chinatown neighborhood just south of The Loop!
Events for Everyone
Chicago is home to a variety of events that cater to all tastes. Beer lovers will enjoy the 2023 Chicago Brewsology event at the Museum of Science and Industry on March 04. If you’re a sports fan, catch the DePaul Men’s Basketball game against Creighton at Wintrust Arena, located in the South Loop. And if you’re in the mood for a show, don’t miss Les Misérables at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, running through March 5th. We might be biased, but Chicago’s theatre scene might be second only to Broadway.
When it’s time to let loose and enjoy the nightlife, Chicago certainly won’t disappoint – ask any student or young professional. Check out the London House Rooftop & Bar for a sophisticated atmosphere with amazing views, or head to 2Twenty2 Tavern for a more casual experience. If you’re in the mood for some dancing, DISCO is the place to be.
A ‘W’ for the ‘L’
Getting around the city – to these attractions and beyond – is simple. Not only is The Windy City extremely walkable, but the Chicago Transit Authority’s many train lines and buses make getting around The Windy City a breeze.
